A joyful spirit can be found in the heart of Sanon Johnson, who goes simply as Baba.
He was born on August 7th , 1992. As a child, Baba moved to Leogane, Haiti where he was constantly drawing and doodling with his three siblings. After he completed his schooling, Baba went to an art school to learn how to make t-shirt art. When his art career didn’t pan out, he returned back home to start over.
Baba was motivated to get a job so he could support his children, so he began learning how to be a mason. While it paid well, the work was never constant and Baba could go months without work. One particular job for Sam Jakaitis, an American missionary, would change his work forever. His smart and eager-to- learn attitude stood out, and Sam eventually told him about a job opportunity for an egg farm.
Baba was hired by the Haiti OneEgg Farm.
Ever since then, Baba has worked diligently for OneEgg and only grown stronger in his relationship with God. His job has provided for his financial needs as well as providing for his family.
If you ever have the chance to meet Baba, it becomes plain to see that his joy and his love for God are unconditional! When asked what his favorite thing about his job is, he says, “Tout bagay!”, which means “Everything!”.
Baba is a light for God, unashamed to proclaim his love for God and his dependency on him. “Every revelation he has ever made is because of God,” he states with a smile on his face.
Sanon Johnson is truly an amazing guy to work with, and his joy despite the tragedies he’s faced in his life, is more than inspiring.
